The Beastmaster Film Swords
Albion/Film Swords is proud to announce that they have been working with Vic
Anselmo, retired knife and swordmaker, over the last two years to replicate his
most famous sword.
The sword, which appeared in the 1982 cult classic, The Beastmaster, is a
fantasy hybrid of a Japanese katana and Arabic scimitar. This piece has
fascinated sword and movie aficionados for almost 20 years.
In 2001 Vic came out of retirement to make a replica of the sword. Created to
his original design drawings and the exact specifications of the original sword,
Albion/Film Swords is producing a limited 20th Anniversary Limited Edition and a
20th Anniversary Collector's Edition. The guard of the Limited Edition sword
will bear the Albion Mark™ alongside Vic's "Anselmo" mark, just as it appeared
on the three original swords.
The sword that we are retailing is the 20th Anniversary Collector's edition.
The blades are hand-ground to Vic's original design from 1075 steel by long-time
friend of Vic, master swordmaker Jody Samson. The hilt components are cast in
durable silicon bronze and hand polished.
