The year is 1969, and down-on-his-luck- interior designer, Elliot Tiber (Demetri Martin) moves back upstate to help his parents run their dilapidated Catskills motel, The El Monaco. The bank is about to foreclose; and Elliot's father wants to burn down the house, but he hasn't paid the insurance.
