The Wolf Man was Universal’s most
successful monster film of the forties. In this movie, Lon Chaney, Jr. is the
haunted, hairy victim of Bela Lugosi’s fanged bite. The illustrator, Karl
Godwin, excelled in the moody, turbulent style of poster, especially for horror
and adventure advertising. The Wolf Man is a fine example of the Godwin style.
