The Luke Skywalker Blaster is now available for preorder.

Luke Skywalker Blaster – Master Replicas
Star Wars Episode V

Product Information:

  • Machined aluminium and brass parts
  • Die cast metal construction
  • Injection molded plastic components
  • Museum quality display case with mirrored base and acrylic cover
  • Numbered Plaque and Certificate of Authenticity

Product Description:

In Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker’s Blas Tech DL-44 blaster was a real antique German 7.63mm semi-automatic pistol, unlike Han Solo’s which had been made from a modern replica of the same firearm.

The front barrel was passed through a specially machined bright aluminium flash-suppressor which closely followed the look of Han Solo’s DL-44 from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. A custom bracket was fitted to the right side of the gun with a single beveled knurled knob, which housed a M19 azimuth sight scope. On the left side of the gun, two plastic model kit parts provided additional surface detailing to complete Luke Skywalker’s DL-44 blaster. Luke’s weapon differed in many other subtle ways from the weapon carried by his compatriot, Han Solo, therefore was quite distinct in its own right.

Dimensions: 9 x 14 x 6.5

Price: $497.00

First Look at Pathfinder

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Take a sneak peak at the new images for the upcoming Pathfinder movie. Read on:

With the release for director Marcus Nispel’s new adventure film Pathfinder only a few months away, IGN Movies has scored a quartet of cool new images from the 20th Century Fox film.

The images show Lord of the Rings veteran Karl Urban in action as Ghost — a Viking boy left behind after a raid on the “New World.” He is raised by Native Americans and given the name Ghost.

20th Century Fox

Years later, the Dragon Men (a.k.a. Vikings), led by Gunnar (Highlander’s Clancy Brown), arrive onshore again looking to enslave the natives and conquer their lands. Ghost only has the spirit of his ancestors to guide him in battle against the invaders who are armed with a new technology called steel.

Check out the four new exclusive images HERE!

In related news, check out the just-launched Pathfinder tie-in videogame. Ghost Warrior is a combat sneaker for the PC, featuring advanced enemy A.I., gripping action, rich 2-D graphics, and an original score.

“For many projects, game developers are forced to reskin an existing engine that doesn’t necessarily relate to the content of the film they’re promoting,” explains Peter Mack, President of Templar Studios LLC. “This is why you see little Web games like ‘penguin toss’ reskinned to promote an action film. This was not the case for Ghost Warrior. The entire game — from the engine itself, to the A.I., to the features and abilities of the main character — derive from the film. To design the game, we looked at the film and created a set of features that directly connect to what happens in it — features like tracking, woodcraft, stealth and combat are all taken from the story of the movie.”

“Lost” star Matthew Fox is a big liar

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Lost star Matthew Fox says that he’s a big liar, manipulator and he loves to take his clothes off (in public). Got your interest yet? Read on:

Matthew Fox, who plays the heroic Dr. Jack Shephard on ABC’s castaway drama Lost, has a dark side.

“I’m a liar and a cheat and a thief and the ultimate manipulator. … I tell lies every day, man,” the 40-year-old actor says in the February issue of Men’s Journal magazine. “And when I say I’m phenomenally manipulative, I am.”

Fox, who is now starring opposite Matthew McConaughey in We Are Marshall, a Warner Bros. Pictures release, says he “can be unapologetically vicious” and is “absolutely an instigator.”

“I really enjoy social boozing, and what I enjoy about it is when people I know and care about say and do things they normally wouldn’t say or do,” he tells the magazine. “To make that happen I’ll instigate anything.”

Fox also enjoys skinny-dipping, something he does, he says, because he’s comfortable in the nude.

“Borat” nominated for Writers Guild award

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Borat has been nominated for the Writer’s Guild of America Award. Read on:

Box office sensation “Borat,” a largely improvised faux documentary about a boorish Kazakh journalist, gained more Oscar momentum on Thursday as it was nominated with four other comedies for the 2006 Writers Guild of America Awards.

“Borat” star Sacha Baron Cohen and three collaborators will vie for best adapted screenplay against the writers of two other comedies, “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Thank You For Smoking,” and two deadly serious dramas, “Little Children” and “The Departed.”

Two more comedies, “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Stranger Than Fiction,” were nominated for best original screenplay along with three dramas — the globe-spanning saga “Babel,” royal family portrait “The Queen” and the September 11 thriller “United 93.”

The list comes out less than two weeks before nominations for the Academy Awards, Hollywood’s top honours, are announced. Due to overlapping membership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which oversees the Oscars, the WGA awards are regarded as a key bellwether for a film’s Oscar chances, especially in the screenplay categories.

All the writers who made the cut this year are first-time WGA nominees, a guild spokesman said.

But one of the big surprises from this year’s roster of contenders is the unusually large number of comedies — half of the 10 nominated screenplays — competing for an award that tends to favour dramas.

“I can’t tell you how happy that makes me,” said Michael Arndt, who wrote “Little Miss Sunshine.” The offbeat comedy centres on an eccentric family rushing across the country in a broken-down Volkswagen bus to get their plucky young daughter to a beauty contest, and how a string of disappointments brings them all closer together.

Yvonne DeCarlo Has Passed Away

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Yvonne Decarlo (Sephora in The Ten Commandments and Lily Munster in The Munsters has passed away. She’ll be sorely missed by all of us classic movie fans. Read on:

Hey folks, Harry here with some bad news. Yvonne DeCarlo has passed away. For film fans and television lovers – this is a sad day. She’s probably best known as that hottie that Ol Moses fell for in that Technicolor beauty, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS – or as the wondrous undead Lily Munster.

But that’s not how she started out – for years in the forties she was just playing eye candy in feature films… a showgirl in THIS GUN FOR HIRE, a handmaiden on the ROAD TO MOROCCO, a girl in a cafe wondering, FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS or as Princess Wah-Tah in THE DEERSLAYER (1943). She played Chorus Girls, Secretaries, Handmaiden’s, Companions, Office Clerks, Hat Check Girls – until…

Film Noir came in where she did the Femme Fatale opposite Burt Lancaster in a pair of the best fucking film noirs around… BRUTE FORCE and CRISS CROSS – and her career had solidified. Suddenly she was playing Calamity Jane and Princess Scheherazade in films. She got to play “larcenous saloon queen” Roxy next to Rock Hudson in SCARLET ANGEL. She was a “B” movie queen – the head lady opposite the Van Helflin’s and Edmond O’Brien’s and Joel McCrea’s and Ricardo Montalbahn’s. Handsome well produced films – often times far better than the A films of the period. Just not as heralded.

Then – immortality came her way when she landed the role of Sephora in DeMille’s THE TEN COMMANDMENTS – a film that will simply never die. One that will ALWAYS play and SHOULD ALWAYS play. She was awesome in the role, not the showiest, but very much the anchor and the heart.

Kiefer Talks 24 Movie

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Kiefer Sutherlad talks to about the possibility of a 24 feature length movie. Read on:

20th Century Fox officially announced plans to turn the hit TV series 24 into a two-hour feature film back in June. Now star Kiefer Sutherland — who plays CTU agent Jack Bauer — has weighed in on how they are trying to bring 24 to the big-screen.

“It’s something that we really, really want to make,” the Emmy winner told “The real key difference would be that the 24 hour film would be a 2-hour representation of a 24 hour day. It would be the first thing that we didn’t do in real time. Mainly, you have to understand, we’re making two episodes every three weeks. We would have three months to make a two hour [movie]. Just to have that kind of time to really allow our cinematographer and our director and the writers to focus on such a finite thing, and actually be able to do a film that really has a conclusion, I think would be really exciting not only for us to make but I think for an audience as well.”

Sutherland added that the 24 movie “will be outside of [the continuity of] the TV show. … I actually believe that the film and the show can actually coexist and for quite some time. I think once that starts to happen, the dynamic between television and film will really change in a major way.”
