30_days_of_night_002_blog.jpg

For those you who can’t wait until the 30 Days of Night movie opens in theaters on October 19th; the 30 Days of Night multiplayer has launched online.

The premise of the game remains the same as the film and its comic book source material: The darkness is coming. Once a year, the sun sets on the Alaskan town of Barrow for 30 long days. During these dark days, vampires feast on the townspeople and wreak havoc on the town. You will quickly meet similar punishment, and a longing to survive, as you become one of the townsfolk of Barrow. Or alternately as a vampire, you will wreak chaos and havoc on the town and its residents, leaving haunting memories for years to come. It is always darkest before the dawn. In this case, dawn is 30 days from now.

Derek Jacobi plays Claudius, fourth Emperor of Rome

Leonardo DiCaprio may be starring in the upcoming big screen adaptaion of I Claudius. I can’t wait for this one. Read on:

Robert Graves’ epic historical novel I, Claudius — which was previously turned into an Emmy-winning 1976 BBC miniseries — will make the leap to the big-screen courtesy of producers Scott Rudin and Alison Owen, the duo behind the forthcoming film adaptation of The Other Boleyn Girl.

According to Variety, Leonardo DiCaprio is mulling the project and may become attached to star. William Monahan, who won an Oscar for the DiCaprio starrer The Departed, is expected to sign on to pen the screenplay adaptation, although neither he nor DiCaprio have inked deals yet.

The trade says that, while Rudin hasn’t yet set up I, Claudius at a studio, it will probably go to Disney since the producer already has a deal there. Several studios reportedly bid for the screen rights to the tome, with Rudin ultimately sealing a $2 million deal for them.

Boba Fett Studio Scale Helmet Replica Preorder

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Boba%20Fett%20LE%20Front%2050-small.jpg

Boba Fett’s inception is almost as mysterious as his character. What is known is that the unique Mandalorian armor he wears was designed and then fabricated in England well in advance of the filming of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

Joe Johnson, the production illustrator and designer, began work on Fett’s helmet shortly after ILM relocated from southern to northern California. Lucasfilm archival photo reference shows Joe working on the “hero” helmet, which was later worn by actor Jeremy Bulloch during principal photography. It is likely Joe also prepared a back-up helmet, which resides in the archive, as its paintwork closely matches the scratches and technique of the “hero”.

To create the Master Replicas Boba Fett helmet our engineers laser scanned an original helmet in the archives, perfectly capturing the shape and subtle nuances of the face and dome and output a master pattern from which all our production molds were made.

Over the years the “hero” helmet has sustained additional scuffs and scratches from its many world tours and exhibitions. Using extensive photographic reference, we worked with a talented artist to recreate the “hero” helmet paint scheme as it appeared in 1979 when it first went before cameras at Elstree Studios. There are two versions of this helmet available for purchase:
