Displaying the hallmarks of his unique, humanist brand of filmmaking, his latest work once again portrays and tackles the eternal dialogue of mortality. Academy Award winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) is simply sensational as Uxbal, a small–time grifter trying to find his way through the moral maze of contemporary Barcelona while supporting his two young children. Biutiful is a moving tale of life, loss and the eternal love that exists between a father and his children. As compassionate as it is hard–hitting, this is Inarritu at his most direct and assured.
