The long awaited fourth instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise opens in wide release (4,155 theaters) this Friday. In Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny Depp returns as the irrepressible Captain Jack Sparrow. This one looks like it will a lot fun!
Synopsis: Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).

Like many films this summer, Pirates 4 was a bit of a letdown. We’ll see is world-wide grosses warrant a 5th entry into the venerable series. Hopefully the year gets better, I’ll have to keep track of things at FilmCrave.com
