'Would you be shocked if I slipped into something more comfortable?'

With this line, Jean Harlow’s career was launched. This movie is the only color film that she ever appeared in, but Harlow was not the only thing that was colorful about this film. Three aerial stuntmen were killed during the making of this movie. It cost $3,950,000 to make, and was the most expensive film ever made until "Gone With the Wind" took that honor in 1935. "Hell’s Angels" also holds the Guiness World Record for being the most edited film in terms of total negative discarded; the unedited film would have run for 560 hours, or 23 days non-stop. The end result was well worth it, though, with "Hell’s Angels" receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography.
