The Alfred Hitchcock Hollywood Walk of Fame Star collectible contains an authentic piece of terrazzo nugget from Alfred Hitchcock's original Walk of Fame Star. The terrazzo nugget is framed and showcased along with an 8 x 10 photo, and a photo of the actual original Walk of Fame Star in a satin ebony finish wood frame.

Birth of the Terrazzo Nugget: In 1987, two hundred of the then 1,857 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame required either a facelift or replacement due to many years of wear. Then during the 1990s, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority removed several hundred celebrity stars to make way for the subway that would subsequently run through Hollywood. The MTA, then reinstalled the original stars, but further construction caused the boulevard to sink thus damaging many of the newly reinstalled original stars. Instead of throwing away these valuable pieces of original stardust, the terrazzo nuggets were transformed into beautiful, elegant works of art for your home theater, business or any room in your home. The worn stars from 1987 and those that were damaged during the 90s construction were replaced on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
