Gillian Anderson talks to press at Cannes about the upcoming The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
Gillian Anderson was at the Cannes Film Festival this week where she chatted with the press about her forthcoming release, X-Files: I Want to Believe, which opens stateside July 25. Anderson reprises her role as Agent Scully opposite David Duchovny as her partner Mulder in the Chris Carter-directed sequel.
“It was hard work. I’m too old for this. It was a slog,” she told BBC Newsbeat. “(Duchovny’s) climbing and jumping off cliffs. I didn’t do any of that and I was more exhausted by the end of it than he was. I’m a wimp.”
The actress added that, although she’s only seeing footage from the film now that she’s started doing post-production voice work, she’s cautiously optimistic about the movie.
Anderson said, “I’m excited and I hope it’s good. I really hope it’s good. I have faith in it. I do.” Perhaps Scully has finally shed her skepticism.
